TRACK SUPPORT – RIGHT IN THE ACTION, NOT JUST ALONG FOR THE RIDE.

TRACK SUPPORT – MITTENDRIN STATT NUR DABEI.

What Track Support at SR-Modellsport Really Means.

For us, track support doesn’t simply mean standing at the racetrack with a few spare parts. We are part of the racing ourselves. We race, work on our own cars, fine-tune our setups – and at the same time, we try to help anyone in the paddock who needs support.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced racer. No matter what brand, model or scale you run.

If we can help, we help.

A RACE WEEKEND STARTS BEFORE THE FIRST RUN.

For a typical race weekend from Saturday to Sunday, we usually arrive on Friday. If an event runs for three days, we are normally already there on Thursday.

And at a European Championship, things are on a completely different level. If racing takes place from Monday to Friday, our race weekend can sometimes start as early as the Friday before.

Because before the first car hits the track, the paddock has to be set up, the cars have to be prepared, and everything we might need over the coming days has to find its place.

And we bring quite a lot with us.

ALMOST THE ENTIRE SHOP COMES WITH US.

When we talk about track support, we mean it.

We try to bring practically our entire shop range to the racetrack: spare parts, oils, setup tools, cleaning products and much more. Sometimes, we even bring complete cars with us.

Because a lot can happen during a race weekend.

A small defect, a worn part or a setup problem can determine whether a driver can compete in the next run or has to watch from the sidelines.

That is exactly when we want to be there.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO COME TO US.

It doesn’t matter to us whether someone bought their car from SR-Modellsport. It doesn’t even matter what brand or scale they run. From the beginner who still has a thousand questions at their first race to the experienced racer who just wants to find those final improvements in their setup:

Everyone is welcome to come to us.

Because when it comes to setup and maintenance, there are countless little details that you won’t find in any instruction manual.

A lot of them are things you only learn after years at the racetrack.
How does the car feel? Why is it suddenly behaving differently? Where should you start looking when there is a problem? What small detail should you check regularly, even though it may seem completely insignificant at first?

That knowledge comes from experience.
And that is exactly the experience we want to share.

WE DON’T JUST GIVE ADVICE. WE GET OUR HANDS DIRTY.

Sometimes, a piece of advice is enough.

But sometimes, you have to pick up the tools yourself.

When someone comes to us with a problem, we look at the car together. And if necessary, we get hands-on ourselves.

There was a good example of this at the European Championship this year.

A driver couldn’t get his engine running properly and came to us for help. So we took a look and initially tried to get the engine running correctly by adjusting the carburetor.

But it didn’t work.
After further troubleshooting, it turned out that the adjustment wasn’t the problem – the carburetor itself was defective.

So we had to act quickly.

We took one of our carburetors, my father installed it on the car, then we tuned the engine – and the driver was able to get back on track.

Situations like this describe pretty well what track support means to us.

It’s not about simply handing a spare part across the counter.

It’s about finding a solution.

AND THEN WE STILL HAVE TO RACE OURSELVES.

There is, however, one small catch:

I’m not only at the track to provide track support – I race myself.

And especially when there is one last setup idea to try shortly before a qualifying run, semi-final or final, things can get pretty hectic in our paddock.

At that point, every move has to be spot on.

Fortunately, I’m not doing it alone.

Behind me is my team: my mother, my father, my girlfriend and friends who come to the races with us and support us.

My father in particular plays a big role. If something still needs to be done to the car shortly before an important run, I know I can rely on him.

I know he knows exactly what he’s doing.

And while all of that is happening, there might still be someone standing with us who has a question or a problem, and somehow everything has to work at the same time.

Most of the time, it does. 😉

IT’S NOT ABOUT SELLING AS MANY PARTS AS POSSIBLE.

Of course, we bring spare parts and products with us, and of course they can be purchased directly at the track.

But that isn’t the real idea behind our track support.

We want to share our experience.

We want people to know: If I have a problem, I can go to them.

Even when things are stressful.
Even when the next run is getting closer.
And even if the problem ultimately has nothing to do with a product from our shop.

Because sometimes you don’t need a new part. Sometimes you just need someone who has faced the same problem before.

IN THE END, IT’S ABOUT ENJOYING THE HOBBY.

That is probably the most important point of all.

For my father and me, it is always great to see drivers make progress with our help.

It’s even better when someone is frustrated, perhaps no longer enjoying driving at all, and together you manage to find the problem.

The car works again.
The next few laps go better.
And suddenly, the enjoyment comes back.

That is exactly what it’s all about for us.

Not everyone has to become European Champion. Not everyone has to race for the win. But everyone should go home after a race weekend already looking forward to the next one.

Because in the end, we all share the same hobby.

And if our experience can play even a small part in helping someone enjoy it more, then our track support has achieved exactly what we wanted it to achieve.

Do you need a specific spare part at one of the upcoming races, or would you like us to bring something along for you? Just get in touch with us beforehand.

SEE YOU AT THE TRACK. 🏁
